You almost missed my reply. Your second photo is so wide that it causes one to have to scroll right to see all of it. This also means that it pushes some of the GG elements off to the right such as the reply button. It took me a while to realize why it was missing. It is wise to never size a photo at more than about 750 pixels wide and 550 pixeld high if you want it to be fully visible at once.
As for your photos, the first is lowkey, the second is high key assuming that one goes by the classic defintion of key. I like the second photo better, but I always find a small distraction when the catch light is almost in the center of the pupil of the eye.
