Adrienne on a hot summer parking lot day. Would like some feedback.
Could have used one of those beers in Ed's car pic from an earlier post.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

It's really hard to light these kind of shots. You however didn't do half bad. It still kinda feels like a snapshot of a pretty girl, though. It's o.k. if that's what you're going for. Somehow I don't think you are.

Here's what I don't like about it. I don't like the doorjam on the right side of the picture. The rust isn't very becoming of that shot. Also, the car doesn't look finished. I don't like that either. There's also this black spot on the model's left collar bone. What's that a shadow?

Now, here's what I do. I like what I think you were going for. I dig rockabilly and hot rods and that whole scene. It's a great concept. Just take a look at Ole Skool Rodz Magazine.

Mike

Thanks Mike,
Your right, it has that snapshop feeling to me too. I wish I had more time,
gobo's, reflectors, finished car,(I don't think it was real paint, looked more
like priner to me) better location, assistants, you know... The spot on her
collar bone, I don't know what it was, it bothers me too, sorry I missed it.
Had a lot of fun though.
Thanks for the input. Here's another for the road.

You don't need all those things. I think the first image suffers from being too tightly framed or cropped. A nice looking blonde, great dress, great legs, and a cool car, even if it isn't finished. A shot of her behind the wheel, one leg draped out, dress flirtingly showing some leg, shot from a lower angle with much more car showing would have been great. Something to reflect a little more light into the interior could be as simple as white cardboard. Your second image has all the elements I referenced above and is a nicer shot, although cutting down the depth of focus on the trees would cause the viewer's eye to concentrate more on the model and the car.

Hi Jim,

This model is very, very sexy to be sure. I think she has "the look" that works great for this kind of image. I would like to see a bit more illumination inside the vehicle to perhaps highlight her hair a bit more. I think that maybe a reflector off to her left shining some light in through the rear window would suffice. I also bet this type of shot would look incredible in black and white with a Mafia-type theme. She just has that look to pull off a shot like that with flying colors, er, flying black and white?!

The door jamb doesn't really bother me too much but it does seem to jump right out of the picture when I look closely at it....a 3D effect of sorts. I gues that is to be expected because in reality, it's probably a good 18 inches closer to me than her head is.

Great idea! Gorgeouse model! Keep going with this idea. I like it.

Thanks for sharing! Good day!

Mike

Thanks Michael... Light though the back window would have helped alot.
I'll keep that in mind next time. I do like it better in black and white.
Also burned the door jam and shortened two of the poles in the background.
Work in Progress From every critique I see something new.
Thanks,
jim

Jim,

Pardon my jumping in here... but that B&W hits me... great conversion... I like it alot... maybe even if you left her in full color and the rest B&W.. but that is just my thinking.. not a complaint.
