I have read through all the posts in here, MM and DPReview and the only conclusion I can come up with is that the internet brings out the worst in everybody. In the old days Rolando and Mr. Buff would go out into the ring and settle this thing. Now, it just rolls into a ditch and stays there. From my perspective, the man that stops this crap first wins. Or take it into the ring.

All I can say is that Rolando has been above board and professional the one weekend and other communications with me. I see no agenda except trying to make a living by teaching people skills that they want to learn. I don't know Mr. Buff. But I can't see how this is helping either one of them.

Hmm, here I was looking for information on lighting equipment, cost and effectiveness, cost being of the biggest issue.
I guess I am back to square one, I can not support a business that isn't what my mentor tought me about " In this business it's about people, and the art of capturing them!" Even if this is old news it has had an impact on me and my buying dallors.

Dont even begin to talk to me about Racism. My mother is Jewish and what do you think that makes me. Its one thing to be called names, try haveing your whole family killed because of it. Growing up in Atlanta I was the (only ) white student in my classes for over two years. It was not easy. So dont even talk to me about not knowing. Paul never called you a greaser and you know it and cashed in on it. Everybody knows this. Maybe he just doesn't like Porn or selling it as glamour. I dont know. I dont care. I found over the years you talking down his product yet you spend time in your workshops teaching students how to use 4" floresent lamps as portrait lighting . I found this a little strange. I think we should have a poll to see how many photograhers make a living sell ing their nude glamour pictures and the ones that make a living teaching photographers to take these types of photo's. How many workshops do you really think you would sell out if thier wasnt any nude girls? I love Glamour One for all the info I get here from many great photographers who try to share thier knowledge as we all grow in the art. But you know I cant send any of my customers here to look at my portfolio and all I get is that its a porn site. This is a half truth. I dont send my customers here anymore for that reason. This is a wonderful site for photography and I send lots of people here to learn more about this art.

Etymology

Etymologically, the term "Hispanic" is derived from Hispania, the name given by the Romans to the Iberian Peninsula (present-day Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar) during the period of the Roman Republic. "Hispanic" has traditionally applied to Spain, Latin America, and to the countries that were part of the Spanish Empire. Some people use the term "Hispanic" in relation to Portugal and its people (including Brazil and Portuguese-speaking Brazilians, however most Portuguese and Brazilians are referred to as Luso/Lusophone.

Greaseball is a slur for Italians. Greaser is a slur for Latinos, especially Mexicans:

greaser

noun
(ethnic slur) offensive term for a person of Mexican descent

WordNet® 3.0, © 2006 by Princeton University.

The quote Rolando pasted is:

“Now if he’d used Rolando’s body grease you would see more. But maybe he didn’t want greasy bodies”?

According to the rules of grammar, when you add ‘s after a noun, it shows the possessive of the noun. Used this way, it means his personal body grease – not Pam, not baby oil, not Crisco.

I have no idea what Buff intended with his words - but under the circumstances, I can certainly understand how Rolando might have taken it as a slur. I can’t see how he could have taken it as anything less than a personal insult. In my opinion it was a very poor choice of words regardless of his intent and the resulting crackback should have been expected. Rolando isn’t exactly known to be a shrinking violet.

Dalmar-- The greaser/greaseball thing was covered, quite extensively, between pages two and three of this thread... Capiche?

Glenn... uhhh.... well... In a perfect world, i.e., a non-judgmental world, that's a beautiful thing to say. But in this world I guess I should quote the Beatles again: "You've got hide your love away." (sailor)
