Here is the test. If anyone goes to this thread, then the second usage of the video bb command will cause the movie or sound to automatically start. In the case of a .wav file example below, just click on any menu option to stop the sound and leave the post. But everytime you come back it will launch automatically.

The first use of {video} creates a button that you click (but even that triggers an event on a window's machine). If you use {video2} then it just launches automatically when the thread starts.

Note: Doesn't happen on MAC or some browsers. On Opera I get a dialog asking it I want to let it play. I've had mixed results on Firefox.

Cheers,
rfs

IE 7 - I get the autmoated sound bite when the window launches...

Even when I clicked on reply!

Cheers!

PS... everytime I open the thread... even after posting a reply I get the sound file launching when I return to the thread. Might drive some people a little crazy having that on a thread they visit more than once.

Yes, that's one of the big problems, the automatic nature of the thing and that it just keeps doing it as long as you're on the thread. So if you come back later to read another post on the thread, you have to listen to it again. If you click Edit, you have to listen to it again. If you do any form of reply.

If other's get an automated sound byte, or a pop-up, please post which browser you're using (if your browser has not already been posted).
Cheers,
rfs
