I've been putting this off for a while, but will be designing and printing cards in the next few weeks. Stupid move, I know, but this is still a secondary occupation for me at this point. I've never had to market my business before, so this is all somewhat new to me.

Anyway I've had a few ideas, but I'd love to see some good designs that actually worked out. Sometimes you can get "too creative" and design a completely non-functional card. Of course the "purely practical card" for my financial advising business lacks a certain amount of creativity that is also necessary for one in the photographic arts field. Ahhh, to find the perfect balance.

Anyone care to show off their work? Is there anything that you found that worked really well or bombed? As always, my sincere thanks in advance!

I dont use a traditional business card. I created a PS document that I have printed at my lab as die cut wallets and use them. The info on this card is no longer accurate but it is only version of it I have on this computer. I can send you a template if you want it.

That's a great card Scott. It's very clean, crisp, and business oriented, but still is a bit different enough to grab your attention and it highlights a great image to boot. If you don't mind sharing the template it would be greatly appreciated. Hey while your at it, can I borrow your model too?

I would imagine that it is pretty attractive from a cost standpoint to produce cards in the manner that you have, and yet still leave yourself enough flexibility to change up images and information on the card as necessary. Really good stuff, thanks for sharing that.

Here is where you can go get it...

I actually have several versions of this card for different uses. I also use it to give to my senior portrait reps with their image on it. My lab did the template for me and I love it.

This is one sample of many that I have worked on over the years. A more recent 2sided card with this being the back side of the card that I am trying to complete for myself.

My concept of business card is a little different. Adding text to the photograph itself.
Our initial meeting and conversation sells all. The card is just a reminder.

Having been in advertising for years, the business card would be used for that purpose, but also can be used as a tool to help get that first meeting started. Sort of a calling card to say hello, this is who I am and this is what my business is.

Hi Dax. Thanks for the business card information. I may check them for prices when I am ready for printing. Saw two of your card designs on there also.
