...when an iPhone and iPhone apps will do this...

Dan is primarily into Landscapes but I'm sure you could do Glamour with this combination. So anyone want to give it a go?

(For some technique info look at the article in the latest issue of "Photo Technique" mag... http://www.phototechmag.com/index.php/marchapril-2010

Interesting - same guy uses platinum printing for film.

Each medium has its own strengths and weaknesses, but I've always kind of felt that the vision of the guy pushing the shutter button, wielding the brush, holding the pen, whatever - was more important than the tool.

Interesting find - thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I once saw a beautiful Art Nude shot done with a pinhole camera (could have even been a shoebox, I can't remember). It ain't a matter of what you have it's what you do with it.

Maybe this is Dan's purpose...or maybe he was just curious to see if it could be done.

There's no indication of the print size or any further details on his website...but I'm sure that, for the right amount of money, he'd be willing to pass on his techniques.

On my next gig, I'll show up with only my iPhone. It will be interesting to hear what the client has to say. If its at all negative, I'll simply refer the client to the awesome work on that iPhone photographer's website. Just sayin.

jimmyd...thanks for the chuckle.

Hmmm, I feel a "I dares u" challenge coming on here. So if anyone wants to try their hand at this, go for it and post your results. We coukl try to stick to what he's done...capture and processing on the iPhone itself but I have no idea what apps he's used (there is a photo of the iPhone with a bunch of photographic app icons on it in the magazine). And I'll have to bow out as I dont own one of these phones...too high priced and the monthly fees are way beyond my reach...but don't let that stop you from trying.

Here are a few sites...
http://www.iphoneography.com/
http://pixelsatanexhibition.com/

I'm sure there are others. I also did do a search to see if I could find Glamour photographs taken with an iPhone but most of those found were screensavers which could have (probably were) done with proper gear and then images then resized to work on the iPhone screen. Not quite what I had expected to find.

[a bit later...] Of course looking for nude photos done with a mobile gave me a hits (not much to go on)

http://www.letsgomobile.org/en/1910/nude-photography/

...and there's this one app no longer available though....I wonder why?

Interesting idea, although I'm afraid I'd have to use the pinhole option. Not only do I not have an iPhone, I don't have a cell phone with or without a camera.
Although I seem to remember seeing someone post images taken with a digital camera sans lens using a pinhole optic...
Hmmmmmmm

Over the past few days I've downloaded several photo apps for my iPhone. Haven't shot anything of note with it yet, but I'm always open to "alternative" forms of photography.
