As many will know, from the various threads I've posted to or responded to, I do have a regular dayjob that only allows me time to do shoots in the evening or weekends (but the job *does* pay for the equipment...a benefit of a steady paycheck. ). So, given time restrictions (mine and models'), lousy winter weather/lighting (no more outdoors shots), and (relatively) high costs for studo rentals, I've not been doing a lot of shooting as of late...which also accounts for me not posting images in my responses.

What I have seen though is a fair amount of great (!) images coming photogs who seem to be fulltime and/or Pro. Now I don't have a problem with this (although it seems to go against the intent of this site...ie. "...Dedicated to those who work full-time to pay their bills while actively pursuing their photographic and modeling passions...") as I/we still learn from these photogs and their images. Actually, if you read that statement from a different view, *everyone* here seems to fit the 'Vision statement'.

Nevertheless, I do wonder if the weigh scales have shifted towards the non-amateurs which differs from GG in the past.

Just Curious.

I'm not sure how to define "Pro" I'm not a full time photographer anymore, but I don't consider myself and amateure either. I make a considerable amount of money from photography even though I'm only doing it part time now.

I currently derive zero income from photography. In the past perhaps maybe as much as 1% of my income was from side photography jobs. I would think that I qualify as a weekend warrior. Of course YMMV...

Weekend shooter myself. Pretty hard to find a model that is willing to shoot in your home studio like setup. They expect a studio or something. So I shoot like once a month now a day.

Scott: I know you did not post these photos for critiques but I do have to say that Number 2 really rings the bell for me. This is a classic Headshot. Keep up the great work. BTW, do you happen to have a similar Headshot with your Model smiling that you can post?

I'm a WEEKDAY warrior (I rarely shoot on weekends). I make about half my income from photography ... the rest from Internet marketing consulting with mostly online travel websites.

Weekend, weekday, whatever I can work in to that day job. Long ago I thought making a living at it would be great - but even a really good photographer usually only makes a modest living, esp if they have the overhead of a studio and employees. I am happy with how things turned out, even if my skills are well behind my years

I shot my first wedding on New Year's Eve of 1970.

So, I am beginning my 40th year in photography, but now that I do not photograph weddings, on weekends I am a carpenter, painter and handy man.

for me.. A home or on the road 2 light set up, and have weekends off. But being winter (Cold) where I live, not much model sessions..A proper studio I guess would help... I'dono though. I am still a nature and urban landscape guy for 90%+ of what I photograph.
