Iíve been photographing models since 2002 after losing my right leg to diabetes and infections. Since that time I lost my left leg the same way but I still get out to photograph beautiful women.

I had a writer friend ask me why I photograph nudes. I went to give her an answer but had to think of a good one so it didnít sound like I was just a guy with a camera. I could have said I do it for the sake of art but thatís used too many times and is it a valid answer?

I went back over my photos of the nudes I photographed trying to come up with an answer. In doing so I decided to put together a book with some text trying to answer her question. Unfortunately she past away earlier this year before I finished the book and could give her an answer. Under normal circumstances I would have stopped working on this book and let it die with her but I needed to answer that question even if she wasnít around to hear the answer.

I put my photos with text in a book hoping I could still have an answer but realized that there is no real good answer. There are millions of beautiful women in this world and every woman is viewed differently. No two people can view the same woman the same way. I try to bring out what I think is the real inner beauty of the woman. Something I canít do while theyíre dressed. I think of them being dressed as window-dressing.

Hereís a link to my book where you can view all of the photos.

If any of you have a book to share I would like to see it.

I just took a quick glance at the beginning of the book. Did you have anyone do any editing on the book for you? In just the first few pages there are at least a couple of instances of incorrect word usage, an example of which is repeated in your post, where you used the word "past" when you probably meant to use the word "passed". I don't know about anyone else, but writing like that is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I also think that it takes away some of the credibility of the author.

Thanks for pointing that out. Her passing was fresh in my mind so maybe I should have waited to review my writing before have it published. I didnít say I was a writer just that I had put a book together so I could have given her an answer.

Well writing aside, your work is very inspiring. My background is in travel/wildlife and no longer something I do $. My current career has provided a good living for me and my family and now I can just shoot because I want to. I have been working on human subjects and really enjoy looking at others work, particularly quality work.

Thanks for sharing
