Howdy everyone. Names Doug. I have been doing photography as a side job for 5 years now and have just started getting into glamour photography. I searched for a fourm and found this one. I think it looks great, with many talanted photogs that I hope to learn some things from.

Up until this point, I have been shooting with a couple 750w tota hot lights, with a couple umbrellas, but today I placed a $5000 order to B&H to get some strobes and all the fixens to go with. I am super excited to try them out when they get here.

Here are a couple of pictures I have taken so far. I was lucky enough to get a gig doing stage shots at a local strip club, and after earning the girls trust, they wanted to start doing some posed shots. I learned quickly that dancers are not models and the first shoot went very bad. She had no idea what to do, and I had no expierience in posing girls in a glamour setting. That night I looked online at some poses so the next shoot, I had an idea what to do. From there on out, each shoot went better and better.

So these are shot with the 2 totas and a 200 watt tungstan bulb in one of those aluminum shop light type housings for the rim lighting on the hair.

Opinions welcome.

Thank you and I look forward to growing with all of you.

Very nice work, and as you've found out, hot lights are a great way to learn. Welcome to GG.

Hey Doug! Welcome to GG! You're off to an awesome start!

If you have some time, you might want to check out my blog. I've been writing it for almost 4 years now. It's all about glamour shooting or, as I call it, pretty girl shooting. If you're looking for a specific subject, try the search function. I've written about all kind of stuff. Plus, there's pics, usually NSFW pics.

One step ahead of you Jimmy. I spent 2 nights going through the first couple pages of each catagory, and saw a lot of them went back to your blog. Thanks for all the insight and teachings.

And thank you for the kind words on my work so far.

Great work Doug! Makes me want to drag my lowell lights out of the closet and experiment with them more ;-)

I especially like the makeup work in #5 & #6.

You're definitely in the right place. You'll learn a lot from the many people on this forum.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
