Hello all

Iíve been a lurker on this forum for a few years and have learned a lot from many of you.
I had an opportunity to shoot a few pretty ladies the other day and would love some CC.

Of your posted images I prefer the second. The balance of the photo is nice and the capture of the action to the left of the main subject seems appropriate to the setting. The third image may show a bit much of the white part of the eye. My wife, who sometimes surfs with me felt that the bibbed outfit in photo 4 did not compliment the subject and that the posing / lighting / wardrobe in photos 5 and 6 was not flattering to the subject. If you would like some posing options you might consider

http://www.howtoshootmodels.com/whoisjeffblack.html

which offers a posing guide that I have found helpful.

I am not am not a full time photog and do not consider myself beyond an amateur. But those comments are the ones I have to offer. The main thing is to capture, post and learn from the sometimes painful but often insightful information given by those who shoot to kill, so to speak, so they can eat.

One way to encourage responses or critiques of your photos posted is to have only one or two photos per post, or two or three very similar photos and request a preference and why.

If you want to post just so others can view your work then multiple image posting is always an option, but comments my be fewer unless your work is spot on gorgeous. At least that is my experience.

Have a great day.

#5.. Pose looks un-natural; I never saw a woman hold a handbag that way.

Suggestion:

Post only one or two images at a time for C&C. It is difficult to try to see them all and make comments.

Your focus is good and the image quality and lighting is good. Agree with above, ask models not to lock limbs, legs and arms can look very strange when locked. The first is tilted a little, not enough to be effective, but enough to be distracting.

I'm going to give you my thoughts on what I see...
Image #1 - The first distraction is the tilt of the entire frame, also as distracting is the angle of the shot & the doorway - if you're going to use a doorway or window as a natural frame - determine the frame first - then place your subject(s) within.... secondly, the models are wearing the same colors - there is not enough contrast between the colors to feed the eye - complementary colors will attract the viewer's eye... third, the shot needs to be much tighter - which I think would solve a great deal of the issues with this image.... let's say from waist up centered in the doorway -natural interior light falloff would make a nice non-descriptive background - lastly, loose the sunglasses - they look too much like props - the eyes tell the story and when you can't see them, well... other than that - the lighting - exposure - no issues....
P.S. Nice Website!
