Below is my typical lighting setup when I want the background to be totally white. I start with two background strobes, one on each side of the white seamless ... then use a large white paintbrush in Photoshop (about 15% opacity) to even out everything.

Thanks for the tips on the BG. I will try next session.

Great lighting set up. More detailed than I expected. I know its a lot, but how do you set up metering? Are the kickers a stop up or down, BG's in comparison to the main?

Thanks in advance!

Metering? Haha ... I never meter my shoots (haven't owned a meter since the days of Kodachrome LOL). I just take a test shot, chimp (looking for any blown out highlights), re-test, rechimp until I like what I see, then shoot. I also adjust my camera to the shutter and aperture settings I want to use, BEFORE I adjust the strobes). I couldn't tell you if my kickers or BG strobes are up or down. Sorry, my process probably doesn't help you ... but I do everything by "look and feel."

Thats quite all right! Sometimes, that is very liberating. I will learn more by shoot, look, shoot..... than just by dialing in numbers. Thanks for your help!
