While I'm not thrilled with the Flag being used as a wardrobe piece (there are Federal laws about that, actually), I do like the images and greatly appreciate the sentiment.

Very nice images, but are you aware that it is against the law to use the US flag as a garment?

Roger - Your first shot of AJ absolutely ROCKS! Great job! I got to see more pix from your shoot with AJ on her MySpace page and I must say you definitely captured her beauty and bubbly personality.

Contributing to the patriotic theme ... here's an outtake from a magazine shoot I did last month with AJ.

It is NOT being used as a garment! If you notice, she has garments on and is proudly displaying the flag. I hope you apply this strict adherence to the law in all aspects of your life.. yeah right.

The "Flag Code" was written in 1999... a real long standing tradition. There are no penalties, fines, etc for violating this "code". What that makes it, as many readily admit, is that it is a set of guidelines, not a strict set of laws.

When people stop using their head and start screaming because someone has their picture taken while having a flag around them, THEN we have become unable to see the forest for the trees.

Edited to add:

Welcome to Garage Glamour, Roger.... good to see you starting trouble here as well as TPF!

I never implied that I was squeaky clean. I'm sure I break the law in small ways all the time. I simply asked him "if he was aware?" As I'm sure you know ignorance of the law is not a defense if you are pulled into court. I did not notice any flag pictures on your port, but I must have hit a nerve there for some reason.

You did hit a nerve. The nerve you hit was one that gets sick of people whining about every little thing just because they feel morally superior to others. This is a FLAG CODE. It is NON-ENFORCEABLE and therefore is not a law... don't believe me??

Quote:
Library of Congress Congressional Research Service, John R. Luckey, Legislative Attorney, American Law Division, writes:
"Thus, the Flag Code does not prescribe any penalties for non-compliance nor does it include enforcement provisions; rather the Code functions simply as a guide to be voluntarily followed by civilians and civilian groups.'
