First attempt at shooting with hats. Don't think they turned out too bad. Comments always welcome

Thanks,
Dean

I like the second one best, I'm a tight cropper, so I would like it better cropped tighter to get her eyes more out of center of the shot....good light under those hats!

Thanks for the comments Don, appreciate it. Might have to go back and look at it again a bit tighter. I see what you mean about the eyes in the center. Guess I hadn't noticed it to begin with.

Man.. more things to remember

Dean

Jesus I can't believe I'm saying this...but....I agree with Don...

In number one, I'm not sure if thats a camera crop or a post crop. If a POST crop, maybe bring the crop slightly higher to where the top of the image is where the top of the hat meets the brim...SLIGHTLY ABOVE THAT intersection....and then move the entire crop slightly to camera left...

This would move her eyes up to the top third....and place her nose more on the left third. IMO this would also introduce a stronger diagonal from the brim of the hat leading from the left edge of the frame to the top...

Nice lighting too...moreso on the 2nd than the first....

Thanks Bobby, the first is pretty much as shot. I cropped a bit off the bottom as the shirt had short sleeves and it had just enough skin to be a distraction. Will go back and play with the cropping.

As far as moving to the left, would I be right to crop about where the seams meet at the top of the sleeve, or further in ?

Thanks for the comments guys they are appreciated.

Edit: Here's what I think you were talking about for the crop on the first.

Don... was looking at the second to crop tighter. Can't seem to figure that one out... would cut off the fingers. Is it ok to have half a hand? I know you shouldn't crop at a joint, mind showing me what you would do?

Thanks,
Dean
