my first reaction was that the images were missing something. the images lack a little pop. the one with her smiling has the most energy and was the direction to go. i think the posey posey is not working.

i think if you went for broad themes i.e. contrast. you can shoot her in an environment that's opposite her personality to help highlight who she is for example. you are only bound by your own imagination.

images showing personality or energy pops more then posing mannequin type shots unless you create your own.

you can never out-perform the weakest link in the system.

look at chungs pic. strong model, make up, hair, lighting, concept and photographer.

your model, while probably an extremely nice person, is never going to give you the strong stuff. modeling is an appearance based performance business. its tough to say to someone that they are not true model material.

our job as photographers is to objectively evaluate our subjects. in some cases, we can't do much and while we can capture them, we can't make them look like something they are not.
