Just signed up for my first Rolando Gomez Workshop (Philadelphia 11/1/08-11/2/08).

Is anyone else going?

What should I expect?

What equipment should I bring (besides my camera and lenses)?

@epeters - Good to hear, I don't go anywhere without my appetite.

@ffppro - Thanks, I look forward to meeting you.

Is it safe to assume that he provides hotshoe triggers for the strobes? My dRebel XT doesn't have a flash sync plug.

I was also considering renting glass; a 70-200 f2.8is and/or 24-70 f2.8. I currently have a 50 f1.4, 100 f2.8, and 70-200 f4. Do you think these would be sufficient?

The 24-70 could come in handy, however when shooting strobes no real reason to rent a lens with IS you won't need it. The extra light is fine with a faster lens but most setups are usually ~f8.0

You are in for a good time. I won't be at this one but I have been to 3? 4? 5? others (too many to remember). Expect to have a good time. Rolando has always provided top notch models and lots of good information.

Camera, lens(es), laptop if you want or need one, though I find that I spend most of the time shooting and don't need the laptop until I get home. If you have a hot shoe on your camera, you are set.

Just to give you an idea of what you can shoot at the workshops, these are some examples from two different workshops I went to. Hope this helps.

You'll be fine with what you have. Yes, we provide radio remote triggers, but bring a pocket wizard if you have one, though not required. See you soon, headed out to the new "Back to the Ranch" location to lock it in! Thanks, rg sends!

I have a 50-150mm lens. Is this ok?

They are talking about a workshop that has happened already. We have one for Philly announced for March, but it fills fast, so sign-up now. Thanks, rg.
