Some years ago I remember a discussion of drastic restrictions for photographers in New York City. I am planning an informal model shoot in Central Park in October. Will I get busted for not having a permit?

Maybe. It depends on whether your "informal" shoot would reasonably be considered personal or commercial. If it is personal, then no. See here: http://nycgovparks.org/sub_faqs/inde...116&artlang=en

Rules and regulations for commercial photography are here: http://www.nycgovparks.org/sub_newsr...uidelines.html
