Yes Rob, I know it's a public fourm, and yes, of course you are allow to participate. But when Al dosn't respond for whatever reason he dosn't respond to my question, and you jump in and answer for him, it isn't much of a jump to the conclusion that you are speaking for him, with or without his permission. In the last thread, you acted like you spoke for all programmers, all experts in your field. You may be one, but I seriously doubt that you do all programming for Nikon, Canon, and Adobe.

Wow, are you serious, Isaiah?

I hope not (this was put at the bottom so that no one will ever see it since putting your information down here is the same as hiding it)

Awww, come on... had your eyes checked recently?

What's that right under my name in my signature. Both an OMP and a ModelMayhem number...

Sorry... pot stirrer has been used before... please retry with a something original if you want to call me names.

Besides, if you don't stir the pot, the soup burns!

Hey, nobody's forcing you to reply to the posts... and frankly, it looks like there is some real discussion going on... amazing!

Al, that's all I was looking for from ya, just something like "hey, got that up, right under my name." Knew you could do it!

That is the whole reason you kept dragging this out? because you overlooked his signature and didn't want to admit it?

Nope, didn't overlook it, saw it plain as day, but just wanted Al to say that he finally did it and bring attetion to it. See, in the past, it wasn't there, so, this was in some small way, was an attempt at some sort of advertisement that Al, while known for his strong opinions here on G1, does know what he's doing behind the camera. See, when it's used as the main part of the window for the post, brings more attetion to it instead of being a footnote at the bottom.

That is a fascinating interpretation of what I wrote. Would you please point out in which postings I stated that I spoke on behalf of all experts in the field, or implied that I was speaking on behalf of all experts in the field? I simply stated that I am an expert in the field (of how the internals of your computer and camera work together) and tried to explain how they work. I am sorry that the objective facts did not fit your preconceived misunderstanding, but that does not justify your subsequent attitude toward me. You set the tone, I followed your lead.

I haven't flipped so much as a single bit for them, and I can't see how this is even a remotely relevant point. Frankly, you are getting boring, but then it has been a month since my father's funeral and the therapeutic value of being openly intolerant of ill-informed people who are condescending and rude to me, like you, is wearing off, so it is time to go back to being a member of polite society.

(Though I can't help but note that two other people, including Al, have replied with essentially the same sentiment as I did above. Please remember to chastise jestersncourt for speaking improperly on Al's behalf, as you did me.)

OK, now I'm done. Much cheaper than therapy.

Wait, are you speaking for Al AND Isaiah?? I am getting confused! If you are speaking for both of them then who is speaking for me?? Surely I don't have to speak for myself!

First I have to say that I have known Al for several years now. I know his work and I know his personality. He is a cranky old man and that is fine with me because I am usually pretty cranky too.

I agree that the critiques on this site suck now compared to the old days. The people that I first came to this site for are now all gone and so is there knowledge. The big reason for this is that people are always crying about harsh critiques. I dont say alot here anymore because of that. I tell the honest truth about any image and too many people cant handle that. I will say what I think regardless of the level of photographer that shot it. I have slammed RG and many others at that level and most of them take it just fine but a few cant take it. The beginers really are the cry babies in this area. If you want a real critique of an image go over to www.shotcritic.com and you will hear what I have to say but bring your thick skin or just dont go there.

As for posting an image with a critique. Right or wrong it is a rule here on this site that you must post an image with a critique. If I were a moderator on this site I would delete every critique that didnt include an image and would ban users that did this repeatedly. It is the rule and is posted as such. Live with it or go away.

It's either that, or master telepathy. Your choice.
