The texture you see on the background was not part of the original. You can see it bleed onto her left (our right) arm the easiest.

Sorry for the slow reply. I subscribed to this thread to be updated when someone replied, but never received a notice of the replies.


Anyway, R Fredrick Smith has the technique. It was shot on location and the texture layer was applied in Photoshop using the blending modes to get a result that I liked. Then painting on the layer mask to keep the texture off her skin.
