I have had some major issues with PayPal after years of working with them. These problems have come for no apparent reason. Anyone familiar with Google's version?

I know B&H photo takes it

I have used both I prefer google as I had to wait 12 months to get $2,300 from paypal (after a dispute). The payout takes a sold 3 business days from goggle, there is not a google debit card. I love the service and the fraud detection is very good every 1 in 200 transaction a customer had to do a phone verify but it was very easy.

Easy integration in to OScommerce and the buy now button were easy to use.

Buy now button for my studio rental

buy now button for customer deposits

I've used Paypal for years and it has always worked well for me. I deal in fairly small ticket items but have had has much as $7500 paid at one time. I find that Google has some problems from time to time. For example your two example links show one of the problems. When I click on the first button it sends to the Google shopping cart and traps the back button so I cannot return. Then when I go to the second link it creates a new shopping cart rather than combining the first purchase with the second. This may be because of how you have set it up.
Cheers,
rfs

My two links are set up as buy now not a cart. PayPal is fine till you have a problem then its all down hill. Having said all of that I still have a PayPal account. The Paypal protection errors in favor of the buyer, but Google make a guarantee in favor of the seller The above is only my opinion .

I just like the goggle integration for me I have a small api (cost me less than $70 to have coded) that takes the payment from Google then send an appointment to my Google calendar for the studio rental and or appointments to my calendar for deposits that also triggers a document from my Google documents account to be sent to the buyer

Again Paypal was fine until I had a problem then it was down hill. (I sold a nude piece at a show that PayPal decided was porn the buyer did not complain but a third party contacted PayPal to make the complaint) PayPal held the funds in limbo for a year would not refund to the customer nor pay me. I sent the work on and waited for a year I should have read the TOS shame on me.

But Google checkout does integrated well with third part shopping carts.

Also Google payments has been free for the past year they will not start charging until February 2008

Another fast note is that Google does not provide an actual shopping card as Paypal does. With Paypal, you can place an number of pay buttons on your page and each one will add an item or items to the shopping cart. I'm sure Google will offer this eventually, but for right now you have to integrate with an existing shopping cart.
Cheers,
rfs

Indeed there are lots of choices. The problem is that each offers different ways of integrating with a site and some require the whole site to be build within the shopping cart product. Many people start with existing web sites and then want to ad a shopping cart and they find that is can be quite difficult to integratge any exist cart system into the site. With Paypal, all you do is place some buttons on the site with a snippit of code and the shopping cart is handled by Paypal. You don't have to have a secure server, a security certificate and any headaches involved in storing customer information (that is all handled by Paypal). I have set up quite a number of these types of sites and I can tell you from experience that many of them are quite complicated and to make them fit the look and feel of an existing site can be a daunting challenge.

The big rub with Paypal and the starting poster's problem came I supsect from offering adult material for sale. Paypal does not allow that. They define adult material pretty tightly so any nude content would fall prey to their guidelines. I believe Google is more liberal in that regard, but even they have some guidelines about "adult" content.

Cheers,
rfs
