I need some help here, please. I sharpen my photo's in the following manner:

I use the unsharp mask method.
Amount: 200%
Radius: 2 pixels
Threshold 2.

The photo appears to be sharp on the PS screen, but after saving in jpeg(highest quality) seems to loose the sharpness. Or, when reducing size for posting on forums, seems to loose that sharpness and crispness.

Where am I going wrong?

There is no, one size fits all, sharpening setting. As I've detailed elsewhere, I use a three step sharpening workflow and it works well for me. Here is a link to that post:

Also, G1 over compresses (at present) the standard image you insert (I suppose to save bandwidth and storage). But I looked at the original image you posted:

And its not very sharp there. You might post the original image somewhere and I or others could have a look at it. Keep in mind that the eyes should be sharp and they need to be sharp at the time you take the photo or you won't be able to add sharpness that's not there to start with.

Cheers,
rfs

If you sharpen the original full size image for making prints that is not going to show much for use on the internet. After you save the original to a folder, reduce the picture and then resharpen it again just slightly for the internet.
