Ring flash with a hair light against a painted and textured wall. Her first swimwear shoot.

Nice Lighting. She is very pretty and nice body. I would like to see her in so environment type images.
Something more interesting for the background.

I love the image. Just a question, I'm interested in buying a ring light, any suggestions?

How close to the background was she standing?
It appears she was very close to the background. Maybe in the future you can get a little more separation?

Really nice balance with the hair light.

If she was further from the wall, I think you would loose the shadow which I like.

Well, I guess for my taste I would also have preferred to have seen her a little further away from the background. The shadow of a ring flash looks unnatural to me, more of something that was Photoshopped.

But a really great photo (I liked the hair light) and a really beautiful model !!

Lee

I always like the ring light effect. It gives a nice point source for the catch light in the eyes. Did you shoot through the ring light, or merely have it off to one side slightly? I like it close to the wall because it contrasts the texture of the wall with the model (in this case).

The shot was done with Heather just a few feet from the wall and the camera was mounted to shoot through the center of the ring flash. Moving her further from the wall, I think the shadow caused by the flash might have still been there but perhaps just altered how much of the shadow would exist.

I don't have enough knowledge of ring flashes or brands to say which might be better for what you want to use. This one was done with a Zeus Ring Flash.
