OK, I knew where it was the whole time. I haven't been shooting as much lately, and all of it has been inside, so I decided to shake things up. This was the first time in over a year I have been outside with just me and a willing subject and no assistant. I'm a little rusty with the whole real world lighting thing, apparently. I can't make up my mind about these. The necklace was not my idea. Yes, I see the lens flare in the first one. Why is there never just one big puffy cloud in the sky when I need one?

C+C, please:

#3 has the best composition. Both #1 and #2 give too much prominence to the water fountain and as well both are a little busy. #1 makes her look a bit heavy, whereas the pose in #2 does a good job of slimming her down.

I see nothing distracting about the lense flair. Sometimes it adds to a photo. No apology necessary.

I agree #3 is your best shot. However I fine the two little highlites on the side ot her nose a little distracting. The fill lighting seem a little to straight on and flat. Nice composition and pretty girl.

thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the replies. I agree about the third shot being the best composition of the bunch. I would like to go back at some point and figure out how to incorporate that fountain into a shot without it being too much competition for attention, but that will have to wait for the future. I am supposed to go out again with Angie and her BFF Mary Thursday afternoon to do something a bit more autumn-like, shorts & football jerseys & a less casual theme TBD, but the location will be different.

Get a 200-300 mm and shoot at F4 or 2.8 and that would do the trick

I have an idea...next summer get her into the fountain with a bathing suit and have her pretend to be drinking from it!
