I attended a group shoot on Monday which was organised by members at another forum I frequent.
I don't generally like group shoots but the location arranged was rather special.
The setting was the grounds and house of a local eighteenth century Coal Baron, now partially in ruins and open to the public.
I haven't posted anything in a while so I thought I would share a shot of Vivienne taken from the balcony of the staircase in the main house.

Constructive comments always welcome of course.

Thanks Don

This shoot wasn't an organised tutorial as such, but just a group of photographers and models getting together to work on portfolio pictures. Although it is a public space, we had arranged with the site management to have access to a changing room and one or two areas normally off limits to the general public.
Therre were approximately equal numbers of photographers and models (20 and 20) so you didn't get the dreaded cluster of photographers around one model.
The house and grounds are beautiful so it was a good opportunity.

My real problem with group shoots is that I prefer to get to know models a little and have some time to build a rapport. In this case I have worked with Viv several times before so it was better.

I definitely think you should do some lighting workshops. You have a lot you could teach, and between you and DeeAnn could probably turn it into a lighting and make-up workshop.
I would come, but I'm a long way from Kansas.

If you are running the workshop you can keep the numbers down and avoid the normal problems of group shoots. I imagine you would have a lot of demand.

Thanks

It is indeed a beautiful old building. Unfortunately it was gutted by fire some years ago, and although the windows have all been replaced and it has been weatherproofed the interior is in rather a sorry state. The stonework remains but most of the original decor was destroyed.
