Well, I have been shooting almost exclusively in a studio for the past 18 months and I am afraid my stuff was becoming pretty repetitive. So, this week I have moved everything out of the studio space and I am going strictly location for a while. Did my first extensive location shoot in a while yesterday. It feels good to have to think about what is going on instead of setting up lights in a particular position for a particular set for a change.

Many thanks for the assistance of Angela who sat for me on this shoot:

Well, I guess I'm on the opposite side of the street, I shoot on location, but wish I could shoot in a studio once inawhile. To me, that's where I would need more creativity. The following does not apply to the other 2 (at this time) posters on this thread, but I've seen some really boring studio work, I mean, the only difference is the pose or the clothing.

Hey Dave,

I appreciate the sympathy. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it you know ;-)

I hope I wasn't misunderstood. I do believe you can do a lot of creative things in the studio. The problem is that they generally take one or both of the following: time and money. Unfortunately, after paying a bill for the space I didn't have much left over in the money department and I have never had much in the time department. The time issue was one reason I went into the studio to begin with. I don't get a lot of open time and I wanted someowhere to shoot when I found I had some time open and could find a model.

There were a lot of sets that I designed that I think would have been really cool, but I never had the time to build them and most of them would have been cost prohibitive the way I imagined them.
