The models are lovely and lit nicely, though the pose of the model on the bottom is not quite as dynamic as the pose on top. The background on the left is cluttered and distracting. Perhaps a different angle. Something a lttle higher that would emphasize the nice bar top and minimize/eliminate the stuff in back.

Ah - they match you just can't see it in that shot. I see what you mean about the pink. Thanks for the feedback.

Verrrry limited space where this shot was taken, ceiling height of like 7'. Perhaps eliminating the background with a 9' paper roll would have been appropriate?

Another, and a different angle, and shows why the pink.

The bars in this place are really cool - but at the time we did the above shots the place was very crowded (300 people or so) - could only use the upstairs bar. Been meaning to get back and use the downstairs bar where I can shoot from above. The shot below was a bit faster and longer shutter to grab the neons in the bar.

Does it look like a tanning bed to you?

With the given constraints of your location, I think you did very well. The lighting is rigt on and the girls look great.

Thoughts: Add hair lights and some kicker (separtation) lights to add more drama and a much more vivid image.

Good advice, thanks much.

I keep trying to keep it simple and use only one light, or maybe two with a second as a fill. Even my canon flashes could be hairlight/separation I imagine with a cardboard snoot and a pocketwizard on them at least to see how it goes.

jason,

your lighting on the models are fine for a glamour type image but the backround is a total distraction. shoot at 2.8 or f4 for some shallow depth on the backround.

kiss is a great philosophy. you are on the right path.

cl

ps. too much photoshop.

Total agree on the background. It was actually at 4.5, but only 28mm because they only roped off so much space for me out of the crowd that was behind me.

It would have gone a long way at 85mm at 2.8 or so, yes?

Photoshop - what specifically? (eyes in the first pic are too much I think for example)
