No, they aren't mine, but none the less, someone's photos were in fact stolen, and then sold at a nice profit.

Looks like it's been taken down. An English company was selling this woman's photos via their Ebay store. They copied them off her site, then offered them as large canvas prints. She figures they sold in excess of 4k worth. Her attorney, she's in Canada btw, sent them a letter. All they did was remove the photos. She had screen shots of everything and contacted buyers and such.

I'll see if I can track down the company and post it here.

I'm not sure there were any stolen photos. The lady who claimed to be from Iceland (by the way) had put up a page on Flickr claiming her photos were stolen by the Uk company which sells photos on eBay:

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/only-dreemin

The company has a very high rating on ebay and has been selling on eBay for 5 years. They have in excess of a 99% positive feedback. So if they've been selling art prints on eBay for 5 years its pretty obvious that they must have been selling them legitimately or someone else would have complained. After all, it would only take a couple of negative feedbacks saying that the photos were stolen and that would seriously impact their business.

I any event, I think sometimes we are to quick to accept anything that appears on some website as being true. It is also suspect that Flickr has now removed the page.

However, there are all sorts of things that complicate this case and so we may be better off to hold our judgement on the veracity of the Flickr person's claim until more facts are available.

Cheers,
rfs
