Okay this week I have a photo shoot to do. We have had this planned for about a month and we can't reschedule so we are doing some work in the studio she is also needing some bathing suit shoots. Because of the wonderful weather it is going to be too cold to do any bathing suit shots outdoors at a lake or anything. So we will have to do them in the studio and I mention that to the model and she said that was fine, but what kind of ideas can anyone throw my way, and I live in Kentucky by the way. Any help would be appreciated.

In the studio about the only way I've had any luck with swimsuit photo's is on seemless that contrasts with the suit. You can use props like giant beach balls, plastic blow up furniture and such. You could also use a plastic wading pool and a garden hose if you want a wet look. Good luck!

If you shoot on a white background, evenly lit, and the model is wearing a non-white bathing suit, then you can do a knockout and place her into a beach scene. You can also use a chroma-blue or green background for ease of knockouts. Keep in mind the model needs to be far enough in front of the background to avoid any splashback (if using the blue or green). Also you need very even lighting on the background.
Cheers,
rfs

I shoot over 800 swimwear images in a given day for Water Water Everywhere and other swimwear companies. Sometimes they want it shot on white, sometimes off white, and more recently, they prefer it shot against soft fabrics, as shown.

If she's looking for bathing suit pictures for her portfolio, it may mean that she wants some images that show off her figure, not necessarily literally in a swimsuit. If so, have her bring a leotard, maybe tights, and do so yoga-esque stuff, if she can. Or workout-oriented things.
If you've got the right kind of props and set, "Trying on swimsuits" could be done, too. For that matter, we've had a couple of examples of beach sets - both real and digital - in the not too distant past.
Good luck and have fun with it.

Hi Darrin: One thing i have done before is find a Hotel chain in your area that has a indoor pool. Because of insurance risk may have to rent a room to use there pool. I am located in Middel Ga. and there are several Chains that have indoor faciliti here.
