I was pleasantly surprised a few moments ago to notice that Jennifer (as seen below) was accepted into this week's group for voting for Maxim's Hometown Hotties contest. They were supposed to email her ahead of time, if accepted, to tell her which week she would be in, but as of last night she hadn't heard anything. I would like to ask folks here to take a moment and vote for her please. It just takes two clicks. The direct link is:

http://www.maximonline.com/hotties/p...gallery_week=7

Of course, I won't start claiming Maxim on my list of credits, but I would like to have a quiet minute or two with their web photo editor (followed by a severe beating with a clue-stick) to find out what they did to her skin tones, particularly in the second shot, because that is NOT how I submitted them.

Thanks in advance for your time.

What color space were the shots when you submitted them. Sometimes if you send shots that are in Adobe RGB, and then they resave them using Photoshop's Save for Web, you'll get a color shift.
Cheers,

All three were submitted in sRGB with embedded profile, using Save for Web to strip off the EXIF data to get the files as large as possible, but be under the size cap (250K).

I had been browsing through the submissions since the contest started, to see what sort of stuff was being submitted. I could not understand why there were so many images with lousy color that were otherwise obviously good shots by professional photographers. Now I know why. If my brother still did web development in Manhatten, I would ask him to find out through the grapevine who is handling this stuff inhouse for Dennis Publishing.

The contest rules required that I sign a form allowing Dennis Publishing use of my copyright, and acknowledging that they would not provide any photo credits for my work. At this point, I would have mixed feelings about having my name on them in public.

Done. Are all three of your images displayed the way they were submitted, or did they "improve" one or more of yours the way they screwed with mine?

I only had one of my images used, the one I posted, for the most part it turned out ok. She just did a right click on the image here on G1 and sent it to Maxim. I don't know if she took off my copy right or if Maxim did it.
I had anther model last week that submitted images, and I did not care for those at all.
