Does anybody here use or has had experience with Steve Kaeser's Britek Lighting http://www.skaeser.com ? And how they compair with others like Alien Bees, White Lightning, Dyna-Lite, Bowens, etc. For some good, quick, easy lighting for studio and/or location work. I'm getting tired of dragging around heavy packs when there could be something equally as good that's lighter, less expensive.......
thanks!

They don't compare to any of the brands you mentioned except for the fact that they make light.

There's a reason they're cheap.

Don't waste your money. I recently did some horsetrading, and came up with one of their kits. Thank god I didn't spend any money! There seems to be a capacitator issue, because the output is not consistent from shot to shot. I experience light fluctuation by as much as 2 stops difference, on a consistent basis. The recycle times are godawful slow. That should be enough right there to send you running for sidelines. Spend your money on Alien Bees....a lot of photographers here use them, because they have great customer service, don't break the bank, and you get consistent light output, with a modicum of controllability. 'Nuff said..that's where my money is going to go.

AB's are small and light...don't skimp on quality. You will still be using them 10 years down the road! -Jim
