I was thinking of her today for some reason. She is now a mother...

FWIW, as much as I generally dislike "selective coloration", here, I like it. Nicely done.

Re: Orchid
Well, I guess I'll start off with the critique of the image, I like the choice of the selective color, not too dominant with the entire image, but stands out. Adds, dosn't detract from the feel of the image. But, just gotta ask, did you start off with a color image, make your selection, and then desaturate, or was it a b&w image that you colored in? Both are very effective methods, I'm just curious as to which approach you choose in this instance.

Gee Isaiah, it has been a long time not hearing from you. I do not spend a lot of time on edits...I tend to enjoy the capture side more. Also, I rarely do selective coloring as it can become a cliche if it is over used.

The fastest method is to make a selection, (feather if needed) and then inverse selection and remove color. I cheat and use Elements 4 for all my edits so it is a one click operation with another to auto contrast.

I probably went back (invesrse selection again) and saturated the coloring. No brainer, about 2 minutes of my time. -Jim
