What does a girl do when a strange force begins to pull at her from her mirror. Here is DFW model, Estelle trying to overcome the strange power that is pulling her into the mirror. She is just now thinking "My name's not Alice, so why is this happening to me".

Danger in Mirrors ...

If you want to see Estelle just before the mirror started its pull, then see this shot:

cool shot. i don't know about itbeing an obvious Alice analogy but it's very interesting. a few well-placed cracks in the mirror might be interesting.

I would liked to have put cracks in the mirror but the fellow I was renting the studio from might have decided to but some cracks in my head if I did. But maybe I can put them in with PS. I've never tried adding cracks, so it might be an interesting challenge.

Here's is an earlier shot of Lindsey. Do you think its more Alicey?

i like the shot of lindsey as well. but it still doesn't seem Alicey. I think you'd need to use some prop or device to really say Alice.

some spidery PS mirror-cracks, emanating from her fingertips, might be cool.

Two questions please, why 5 arms in the first one?
On the second one did you get that effect by zooming with the shutter open.
I saw a ps filter that was supposed to do what you did in the second picture, but it just blurred everything.

It's one of those old fashioned mirrors with a main mirror in front and then mirrors on either side that are titled 20 or 30 degrees towards the person sitting in front of th main mirror. So you are seeing anothe reflection of an arm. AS for the zoom effect, I did that in Photoshop with just what comes with Photoshop.
Cheers,
rfs

Both shots are quite intriguing.

Very interesting concept. Seems to me that you need some more obvious indication that she's being absorbed by/into the mirror to convey the nightmare quality of the idea; I think that's what JimmyD's reacting to as well, with "spiderweb of cracks" suggestion.
These self-imposed assignments can be real mind-benders, particularly if you refuse to make it an exercise in digital manipulation.
Nice stuff - intriquing idea. Thanks for sharing.

Another enhancement would be to have one arm already passing into the mirror - that one might require a touch of Photoshop, though...
