David, no criticism, just asking because I'm trying to learn to see details better. Is it my eyes (or monitor) or is the focus on this picture at the lips rather than the eyes?

The eyes seem soft to me also (on my monitor), so perhaps he was focusing on the lips.
Cheers,

Beautiful woman.

I also have some problems understanding the focus. Lips quite sharp, eyelashes quite sharp, eyebrows quite sharp, wisps of hair at temple sharp - indeed, only the pupils and irises, and particularly of her right eye, aren't sharp to me. Is this some strange physiological response to your flash? What shutter speed?

OTOH, she really does warm things up. Very nice work.

geez....I really don't know what to say. Everything looks sharp to me on my monitor. I always focus on the eyes.

I did a bit of sharpening on the lip gloss, and perhaps that gave the illusion of sharper lips than eyes, but on my monitor the eyes look sharp too.

To me the catch lights in the eyes are fuzzy, but the rest looks good.
Very nice.

Seriously - it may just be some sort of perceptual optical illusion caused by the umbrella reflections on either side of her pupils. But regardless she has a most lovely countenance.

I wonder if it is merely an illusion that it is soft due to the catch light in both pupils. It seems as though the catch lights are showing a little gray (shadow) at about the 5:00 position from the main light and about the 2 – 3:00 position on the fill side. I may be wrong though. No matter what David, it is a great shot and she is a very pretty model.
