Hi everyone. I'm still alive. My apologies, when it rains it pours. I was first affected with the flu then a stomach virus since Los Angeles, not norm for me. Then unfortunately we had a turn of events here at home with my only son, he's been diagnosed with a heart problem, though we should be fine in the long run. So it's been lack of sleep and other issues for a few weeks, I've been exhausted and really tired. I will get back to my blog and posting on the forum soon and I know my energy levels will spike back up--photography is my blood, my life, my family and my passion.

On the positive side, we had the San Antonio workshop this weekend here at my home, it was awesome, no bee stings and nothing but the best! (grin). Thanks to Tony and his wife Patti for all their support along with our five models, Malloy, Devon, Kimberly, Erica, and Playboy Playmate Holley Dorrough and MUA Sally Kempton. Thanks to all the attendees and and a special thanks to "Doc Kahn" or Sherwin as he's known by the models. Thanks to everyone, you are the greatest! You are my extended family!

I'm trying to play catch up and and I have tons on my plate before I leave for West Palm Beach Photographic Center to teach on Thursday for a week, so please bear with me, I know I'm way, way behind on things but I promise to catch up soon.

I leave you with something that is very precious to me, shot with my cell phone camera, the most important photo of my 27-years as a photographer, it made me proud under the circumstances, as my 2-year old son never cried through his ordeal with the cardiologist--he makes "Daddy" proud, I had to capture the moment, don't know why, perhaps it was my photojournalism instinct. For those that don't know, I have four girls and one son, the youngest, and my first son was lost in utero seven years ago, so please don't knock this photo, it's very special to me and I'm proud of "my brave boy" and how "tuff" he was the whole time from nurses, EKG, Doctor and sonogram and all, a Dad can't be prouder to share it with those that have made Dad who he is today--you all on G1 (GG) are my family, without you I'm just another by-line in the newspaper--thank you and God Bless--I feel strong because of you all here.

On another note, many have asked about the Virgin Islands, yes, all the 2007 slots are sold out for four VI workshops so we just added a fifth workshop in August 2007 plus the first 2008 workshop in April, PM or email me for details as I haven't had time to make the sign up links yet. Note to everyone, my email has been haywire lately too, so PM's might work better.

Thanks to everyone here and your patience, you are by far the best "friend", rg sends!

Props to "Little RG" for joining the Tuff Guy Club.

I had a similar experience with my Daughter being a guest of Driscol Childrens Hospital here in Corpus for six fun filled days. Mom was at home with the younger Son and I stayed at the hospital for the duration. Sometimes all the hugs and love you can give just aren't enough.

Enough about me ... wanted to say a big THANKS for the SA workshop, and the cenifoil + gel samples. I had an exceptional time. The group was friendly and open to sharing of ideas. The models were a non-stop source of entertainment and easy to work with.

Thanks again or the use of your home, resourses, knowlage(sp?) and time.

RG,
Best of luck to all the family. It's never easy when any of the kids have to go through an experiance like this. Give them all an extra hug or two when you can. If you ever want to vent you know my number.

As for the photo I think it is spectacular.

See you in Vegas?

Steve

RG...Keep the faith and kudos to the little guy for proving he's a big guy already. Thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Hi Rolando,

Hopefully things will be looking up for you from here. I'm glad to hear your son is going to be okay. I'll be thinking of you. Good luck with everything!

RG,

I wish you and your family the very best. Your little guy looks an amazingly strong individual. I am sure that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.

Best regards,
Kevin

As a parent, I know what a frightening experience something like this can be. Fortunately, the courage we need to deal with it doesn't just come from within. It often comes from others, most specifically and as your cell phone pic depicts, from your son himself.
