Coincidentily a number of questions that have recently been discussed on G1 can also be found in the latest issue of Popular Photography (March 2007). Here are a few of the interesting items:
1. How to salvage JPG files when you've missed the exposure, or WB or something else. The article on page 36 has some good methods including the Black Mask technique that I included some time ago for sharpening eyes.

2. An article that goes into quite a bit of depth on hand holding a camera at slower shutter speeds and he use of stabilized lens. The article starts on page 68. They give their testing procedure for how they determined how many stops you gain with stabilization. They also present the Reciprocal rule and make a positive statement about the effect of the 1.5x and 1.6x lens factor and handholding (see page 73 sidebar). Also read the "Fine Print" comment in that same sidebar.

3. How do you pick your lighting system. This article starts on page 81 and features a rather drab Glamour photo. They have some interesting advice. They also talk about small product photography and the use of light tents (page 82). Did we ever talk about lighting systems. By the way no mention of Hensel or PB!

4. Page 86 starts a review of Adobe Lightroom and suggests that it might be a Photoshop Killer. Read their reasons.

5. And for all those who ask questions about various photographic emergencies that arise, there is a whole section starting on page 88 on various things you can do in each of 22 emergencies. I liked #19 that shows you how to photography a model with a big Nose.

6. One last article of interest is on page 50 where you learn how to cure the blues in your photos. My favorite thing is the problem solver gadget on page 51, the Manfrotto multiclip. I just wish they didn't cost $10 each.
Anyway, check out the issue and solve all your photographic problems.

I too think the Manfrotto multiclip is about the coolest thing I have seen in a while. There has to be something like that at Home Depot for a better price. Maybe I can take a look today and get back to you all.
