Well $99 seems too high for the bag you link to. But its difficult to tell for sure since there are so few details about the bag. I assume this is a camera bag. Are you looking for longer or wider, or what. The bag I use is about 25" by 15" by 15" and cost $40. The brand on it is CPC. I have a smaller bag made by Tamrac and it is heavy duty and cost about $40. Tamrac seems to make some very nice bags and I've usually found good buys on them.

Cheers,
rfs

Can't help much - since I'm still using the LowePro Magnum that I bought in 1983.

You don't tell us what you want the bag for, and since the one you show is obviously not a camera bag, I assume you are looking for a carring case for other equipment.

I went through a search recently for bags to carry various poles, scrims, stands, etc. and posted a report about it here called The Right Stuff The main bag, which may be what you are looking for (just guessing because you don't tell how you will use the bag), is the Photoflex Transpac Outbound Bag available from B&H for about $70. The big thing with bags used to transport poles, scrims, and light stands is that I've found they need to be at least 45" long. I also found a used(?) transport bag for a Savage background stand set at B&H that was perfect for my scrims either as a stand alone bag or to keep things organized inside my Transpac bag. (About $20).

Transport bags for lighting equipment is normally purchased through the manufacturer, it may cost more but the packs and heads will fit properly. If you just want a camera bag, figure you are going to pay around $150 for a decent Tamrac, but you only have to pay for it once every 25 years.

PS: I reviewed your very brief profile, and now it appears you may be looking for a bag to carry a professional video camera. For that, you will have to find someone familiar with video cameras similar to your own, and then go to B&H to get the best price.

Go to Home Depot and look at the tool bags and the roll around tool boxes. I bought a stanley two piece tool box for $40.00 three years ago that I use when I shoot on location and I tell you I love the roll it around on wheels part, I have never had any trouble getting it over most ground types and up stairs. They are designed to go onto construction sites so are dam sturdy. I stand on mine if I find I need height at all. I ust the top case for light meters, camera flashes and other smaller items and the bottom carries 3 WL uz800 and all the junk connected with them. Except the stands. those I bungy onto the handle and they travel just fine.

Hello to a fellow Canadian. I see you're not far away from me - I was down in Niagara Falls last week.

When my kids played hockey I bought a canvas hockey equipment bag at Canadian Tire about 25 years ago that I'm still using to carry light stands and related 'stuff'. I've often thought about replacing it with something that has wheels because it gets pretty heavy & bulky sometimes. Unfortunately, although the kids still play some pickup hockey, they don't give me their hand-me-down equipment anymore.

For a camera bag, I have a Lowe Magnum 35 that's about 30 years old and still in good condition despite many years of canoe tripping in Algonquin.
