I agree a mixture of shots would've been better. I like #1, but wish to see more of her in the last photo.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th shots feel uncomfortable to me because her head is tilted downward. I keep thinking that blood is rushing to her head. I really like the 1st and 5th shots though, even though the cropping is a little tight on them.

Consider these comments as coming from the peanut gallery of a hobby glamour photographer ...

You've done a good job focusing on the eyes. Also I like the lighting: gives the images a nice warm soft, feeling.

I like the realism of the model; she seems not an airbrushed perfect abstraction, but rather has a 'girl next door' look, for lack of a better phrase.

However the lime green background and the tilting up and down makes me seasick...

Another thread has commented about tilted horizons not working except for special effect in unusual cases. You've tried it, so you can now say you've been there and done that ...

Of the images posted I think the last is the best. The white bra contrasted with her skin, and the showing of more of her, indicates she has a good body and adds to the appeal of this image.

I wonder how that last image would look if you could photoshop it to transform lime green pixels into the same shade as the beige part of the background. Sorry that I can't tell you how to do it, but I bet it can be done and it might make the model "pop out" from a uniform bland background.

All of the photos have good qualities and your series inspires me to try close up glamour headshots, something that I've not really spent any time on. I'll try to attach one where I think I had some luck and good advice.

Be glad to trade ideas or comments in the future.

Steve

It's very rare that a tilted image with the model on her back and here head in the lower corner of the image works out very well. If she's on her stomach then it's a whole new ballgame.

The eyes also tend to read left to right and focus on the brightest object in the image. Which is why I like image #1. While I find the black seam running up to her arm distracting I think the black seam in the upper right compliments the models angle. I would only change the color of the wall to match the comforter.

Watch out the for the crown of the models hair when she lays down. I usually have the model run her free hand over the back of her head before she comes to rest. Keep an eye on it because after a few movements within the same pose it can start to pop up again.

I would like to see a little bit more of her left wrist. Not much but just enough to give her hand a connection. The fingers on that hand don't look relaxed.

Despite the minor technical difficulties I enjoy looking at the image. Good work.

Rule 10
It doesn't work here either.

On the fourth shot in this series I moved positions for a differrent angle and she turned her head just as I shot it and I did't notice her hair.
