Hmmm, made the same mistake as the first one, her right arm is not posed properly.

You probably also want to eliminate that bright white rectangle in the upper right corner, as it's pretty distracting. My eyes are pretty bad, but this looks softer, more diffuse than the first. A might too soft about the eyes, IMO. It looks like the focus is actually on the white strap of fabric at her shoulder, in fact, maybe her lips? If you're softening digitally, you might want to soften the eyes a bit less.
Good rapport with the viewer, and I love her complexion and the dreamlike quality.

Recognizing the problem is the first step in solving the problem. So, just don't do it again until you are a master of photography and can tell eveyone that this is now acceptable and the new "in" style. I agree with John that her eyes need to be sharper.

I'm confused !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your comment:

"So, just don't do it again until you are a master of photography and can tell eveyone that this is now acceptable and the new "in" style. I agree with John that her eyes need to be sharper."

"Don't do it again until .................. Huh????????????????
What is a "master of photography"?
What is the "in style"?

Yes, the eyes could be sharper, no doubt. The real question is what does the image invoke? Rix - You missed it!

I'm sorry you're confused there Jim so I'll try to clear it up for you.

Weston was a master of photography. Because he was a master photographer he was able to sell black and white erotic pictures of vegatables. Then everyone was taking erotic pictures of fruit and vegatables trying to be like Weston. It was the "in" thing to do. So when gawie becomes a master photographer he can resubmit this image and get praised for changing the rules of photography.

The bottom line is that a Master Photographer can break the rules and get away with it and others will follow their lead.

What does this image invoke? This is a good but technically flawed image of a beautiful woman that could have been an exceptional image by following the rules of posing and proper focus.

I didn't miss anything.

I studied under a master photographer for two years to learn way back in the old film days so my lessons cost me a lot of cash. Luckily for you there is another thread here that has a lot of links to different posing guides.

Here are the links from that thread as of 10:45am cst.

http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/ (Appearel For Her)

http://photographytips.com/page.cfm/5858 (expensive 184 pgs &1104 images)

http://www.vci.net/~mmorgan/pg2.pdf (pdf file-large and soft focus. 18pgs/28 per pg)

http://coltman.com/modelinfo/posingguide.htm (2 web pages/120 images)

http://modelposing.net/modelposing03.php (more for models. detailed. silhouettes)

http://www.photocrack.com/main/index.htm (free stick drawings--downloadable zip file)

http://www.pictures4fun.com/main.htm Jeff Blacks cd $20 plus shipping)

Good luck.

That is...of course, if that master has an audience for his work.

Basically, there are two varieties of Master Photographers: True Masters, who are recognized as such by others, and Master Baters, who, for the most part, are the only ones getting off on their work. Of course, there are many, many levels of photographers who fall somewhere in between these two brands of Masters.
