(I really don't like putting it this way, but let's see if it works.) The flaw has two parts. You object to a third party that is offering a service to make it easier for people to find you and your work, which would seem to be the point of putting it on the internet in the first place. Second, you seem to prefer needless judicial relief (creating a bad precedent for others) from this alleged affront instead of using an already existing trivial option provided by the third party to exclude your site from their indexing service.

/// I respond: This is a factual misstatement and misunderstanding. The "full page" doesn't open up. Rather, Google forces the owner's server to serve up the full image OUT OF CONTEXT making it appear on the Google site. Thus Google is stealing bandwidth, as well as use of the full image.
I guess that's the real issue. From what I see, all of the full sized images are displayed in a frame that shows the actual page of the content.

RFS.

He may not ave forgotten more about copyright law than any of us know, but that's not what I said. I said he has probably forgotten more than most of know, as in photography, web design, intellectual property laws, the whole shabang!

I've published two books thru Lulu.com that are available thru brick and mortar stores or places like Amazon.com. To increase exposure I had to actually opt in to Googles book resource. My entire book is searchable and it's pretty cool. EVERYDAY (well almost my books are really a niche market) I have traffic generated thru/by Google to my website - www.42FordGPW.com They only problem I've every had was some French guy that thought because I had a picture displayed on my website he could use it to sell something on eBay. I sorted him out very quickly and that was that.

I hope that Google wins. I would pull the plug on Europe otherwise, if it were my company--- I do sell my stuff world wide and that might hurt a wee bit as well.
