Sorry I've been away from posting for awhile.

I just completed post-production work from JT Smith and KellyG's SuperShoots Las Vegas 5 -- a fun, four days filled with some great instruction and incredible talent. Thanks all, it was a blast!

Here's a glimpse at some of some of what I captured there. C & C always welcome!

Dave

(Never quite sure which forum to put these in, so if this is the wrong place please be kind enough to move the post to the correct spot. Thanks!)

Nice work. I like your blue Jessica, and Ginger, and your David & Susan shot. I like the pose and exposure of the David and Tierra shot, but the models "feel" lost in the center of the image, amidst the steps. I'd crop it just above the male's head, but even then I'm not so sure - partially, the two are not interacting; they're looking away from one another, using each other as a prop. .... Ummmh. Don't know what to say.
The last is also well exposed, and I like the composition, the shadows, and the beautiful woman - but I don't think this pose is particularly flattering for this model. It takes very thin, very toned legs to do that without looking heavy. G*d knows I've done that enough.
They're good stuff, Dave. IMO, quite a new area for you, and very nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

What I like about the first shot, David & Tierra, starts from exactly what seems wrong with it. They are not interacting. They are isolated within themselves and also as a pair they are isolated in the centre of the framed space. There is nothing in this space to distract from an unflinching
focus on the main subject(s).

The isolation and loneliness that is the human condition emanates from this.

Thanks Ron, Gary, Mike, KellyG, Dean & John! I really appreciated the comments, critiques and praise.

While John made some accurate observations of the first image, Gary got what I was going for here. That whole, together but alone; being one and yet remaining individuals; there but truly apart. As Gary put it so succinctly, "The isolation and loneliness that is the human condition."

I'll post a few more after the image CDs are shipped off to the models later this week.

Thanks again!

Dave

Too much thought for me. I'm a simple southern boy!

LOL I hear ya, Mike. Typically I hate going too deep into my thought process when capturing an image. But the question just hung out there with differing views so figured I'd best fess up to what I was after with it.
