Hi all. Invested in a used Nikon D2H for sports photography, but decided to give it the ole college try last night while shooting some ladies...

Anyone else shoot with this cam?

And a sports shot for flavor...

I shoot with a D2H and D1X. I only go to the D1X on occasion when doing tabletops for a wedding or images that I know I will need the extra MP's. I love shooting with the D2H. Controls are great and speedy to work with. Everything is laid out well, and at 8fps, well--you just cannot go wrong. I shoot a lot of candid work and I fire three or four frames every chance I get to ensure that I get a good expression and eyes open--it is amazing how many people blink at 3fps with the D1X. The speed of the D2H just makes it easier for me. When my funds increase, I will upgrade to the newer D2X. I just love it--your thoughts?

I am in Charlotte, NC. No, not my house, just one I have access to. Its a 5 story mansion on the lake up here, 9 bedrooms, all decorated with a different theme. Pretty amazing place.

I agree, I am quite pleased with the camera so far. For sports it really shines in its fast autofocus and shutters. I am shooting a wedding tomorrow indoors, I plan on giving the D2H a try there, although I will have to shoot at 1600 and it seems to be QUITE noisy up there.

This was no "first try"! HAHA
The lighting is great, the model is beautiful and the shots are well composed. Number 2 is my fave but 4 is great too. What a beautiful girl.

I use the D2H on models as well as sports all the time. I love it, it's a great camera and the only flaw I've found in it is a tendency to have green faces when using a flash, especially on camera flash, and some kinds of makeup. It's kind of weird, a group of 4 or 5 women at a wedding and one with a greenish face and normal ears... I guess people don't normaly put makeup on their ears. I never got around to finding out just what kinds of makeup it was.
