I like the mood in the image, especially the mystery with all the blacks/shadows. Thanks for sharing, and let the viewers know more about the image and how it was shot. There are more "lurkers" on this forum than posters, and I've met many of them that just come here and read and observe.

Thanks again for sharing and for being a part of the G1 community and family, rg sends!

Thanks Rolando! That means a lot coming from you. Nice shot btw, of course.

Retro hollywood glamour photography is my favorite style of portraiture. The girl in this photos is a student at UNT in Denton, she was real nice. The hat in the photo I picked up at a really kewl coffee shop in a small town here in TeXas called Wylie - it doubles as an antique shop and they have some really (expensive) neat stuff in there. I picked up the hat for $20. On ebay they often go for as much as $50, this one had the black veil and everything often worn in the 20's and 30's.

This photo was created using a light-on-light technique, a large softbox for fill and a 30-spot for key to create the butterfly pattern. Those were the only two lighgts, I didn't see any need for more in this case for obvious reasons (although I typically love using kickers and hair lights).

And yes there are a lot more lurkers than posters here it seems!

Thanks again

TJ, nice retro image. I like that "Old Hollywood" style as well.
