This is my favorite pic out of all that I shot with Ann this past Saturday. Please let me know what you like or don't like. I want to improve my work.

Hi Bill

I find the light to the right of her face catches my eye, maybe if you tried cloning it out to see how it looks. My biggest nit is the arm to the left. The angle the photograph has been taken at forshortens it and makes it look deformed, as if the hand comes straight from the elbow. Maybe a foot or two to the right would have prevented this.

Hope this helps.

Pete

Thanks. I see what you mean. I cloned out the light, at least the one I thought you were talking about. The "arm", the next time I shoot a similar pic I will remember to move a few feet to either side. Here is the edited version.

Hi Bill

That was the light I meant, your attention is much more focused on her now. Hope you don't mind a suggestion, make a duplicate layer, set the layer mode to overlay and adjust the opacity to suit. At 100% it may be too harsh but at 0% its not enough. It just seems to add a little contrast to the image. Dead simple but sometimes works.

Pete

I agree that cloning out the light improves the photo. It looks a little grainy to me, and I think the position of her right arm is awkward and odd. Beautiful model, she's got a nice figure too. Keep shooting and posting I'd love to see more of both of you.

No Pete, I don't mind suggestions on how to improve my work. I tried what you mentioned. I did it twice using the method you described. The third time I added a layer and burned it, then I used the eraser to remove the layer over the model. I'm not sure which one I like better.

Thanks for your comments Titan, BTW - how did the shoot go today?

More light needs to be on the face. Also, her arm coming out at me actually looks like she fell in some of that radio active stuff in the sewers from the ninja turtles and she has a hand where her elbow is. The pose isn't too bad. I would crop up the leg a bit more because I'm picky. Also b/c I'm picky watch the neck line. Maybe have her stick out her chin a bit more.

I agree with you about her chin, I will work on that later this week when I shoot with her again.
Your right, her face could you more light. I was trying out a home made reflecter, didn't work so good.
