Surprise, surprise when i checked my stats today (on statcounter.com) and discovered, by early afternoon, I'd already had almost 3,000 visitors to my blog! http://prettygirlshooter.blogspot.com

holy cow! usually, i've been getting between 400-500 visitors a day with a lot of that being thanks to many of you, here, and from other photo forums.

It seems fleshbot.com picked up on my blog from another blog, atomicsexkitten.blogspot.com, who ran something about my blog last week after picking up on my blog from i don't know where. fleshbot ran a little story about PGS and BAM! thousands of visitors and the day ain't over yet. Ain't the internet grand? If only I had a nickel for every... well, you know what i mean.

here's what fleshbot had to say about my Pretty Girl Shooter blog:

"Its vaguely creepy-sounding title notwithstanding, renaissance porn man Jimmy D's online journal chronicling his career as an, er, shooter of pretty girls is an entertaining and informative behind-the-scenes look at the entire process of taking pictures of naked women for a living, from choosing the right lighting and equipment to dealing with harried assistants, howling models, and the dreaded Amputated Arm Syndrome. Whether or not you're a photography geek, we guarantee you'll be interested in what he has to say about things like contrast issues and wireless transmitters ... especially when there's gals like Roxy Jezel and Cindy Crawford to show you how it all comes together."

anyway, i posted another entry about shooting glamour in the great outdoors.

No, no...you want a nickel for EACH time, not EVERY time. Otherwise you're only $0.05 richer, no matter how many visitors. You, as a writer, have a special obligation to be precise in your usage. You're a role model for young minds, now, Mr. D., sir.

The biggest problem with your blog is that now you're posting less here so while I have more (enjoyable) reading to do, I have (usually) fewer images to peruse.

Oh, and the tattoo removal cream - how about instead a "bleachable" tattoo ink?

or perhaps a semi-permanent tatt? after, say, two-years you need to have it refreshed with some kind of chemical catalyst or it simply fades away.

Jimmy, I agree completely about the advantages of using a wireless sync (particularly on location) and also about not wanting to pay for the privilage. I currently use a Quantum 4i system, but I am very interested in picking up one of the less expensive radio syncs. Where did you get yours? I see them on E-Bay for $50, but B&H wants more than $100 for what seems like the same system.

John,

You might want to ask if the unit you are interested in buying has an FCC Type Approval and a FCC label on the unit. Not just an import certificate, but an actual FCC Type Acceptance.

If it doesn't have that according to the current FCC regulations, it's illegal, and it can't be imported, advertised, or sold in the USA. Strangely, Speedotron and others continue to openly advertise what appears to be exactly the same unit as the illegal one which was being sold on Ebay.

Theoretically, you could be liable for heavy fines ($4,000 to $11,000 per incident) for using it. But the reality is you'd never get caught unless you interfered significantly with an FAA beacon or a public safety communications system.

However, the FCC has cited at least one dealer on Ebay for selling the units.

The wireless revolution should catch up with cameras soon. With Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and other unlicensed wireless technologies proliferating across the spectrum, it's just a matter of time till wireless camera links, remote slaves, etc. are a LOT cheaper...

make that, it's just a matter of time before wireless is integrated into the camera. i'm not talking about simply firing lights, how about wireless to send the images to your nearby computer? you can do thatnow with add-on gear, but its expensive.
