articles on my blog since I last pimped the blog publicly. One's about wireless sytems to fire your lights and the other's about, uhhh... I'm not sure what it's about.

Read them both JD,
I too, have the wireless e-bay cheapies, all battery (AA's) recievers,..I bought 2 sets also, and the hot shoe transmitter has a button to fire the lights when I want to meter with my Sekonic L358, and they seem to work fine, but I haven't used them much more than a half dozen times so far.
This may be of interest to some:, I also have some e-bay cheapy mono 110 volt strobes (Yin Yan), that I can fire wired to the camera hot shoe. I recently upgraded from Canon Rebel, (plastic body),.. to 20D, (mag body),..and yesterday while shooting tethered in my garage, on the concrete slab floor, and wearing shorts, (hot as hell here), when I got down on one knee, I would get a slight tingling shock once in a while while composing and focusing a shot. So, I will be using my wireless setup more in the future

I kinda LIKE firing my strobes with my L-358. Makes me fell all warm and powerful inside. And lazy.

TJ....you forget that Jimmy lives in L.A. Never having had the blessing of living in Texas or Alaska, how could he understand the blessings of angling. Especially taking salmon on a fly rod.
Jimmy, I like the points you make in your blog about not having to have the best of everything to do great work. It just reminds me to make do with what I have, and become the best that I can with what I have.

Okay, so I have this set of eBay wireless tx/rx'vrs. The 6v battery is dead! Where in the heck do you get another? From my searches online the guy selling these on eBay is about the only one selling this battery! I've since bought the Hensel transmitter and am much happier.

yeah, too bad the transmitter's battery isn't also AAs. i found the 6v it uses either at radio shack or sav-on or rite-aid drug stores... can't remember for sure.

hey! waitaminute now! i grew up in north-east new jersey and spent almost every summer at my grandparent's place in upstate new york. there's plenty of fishing there--lakes, streams and rivers--and almost daily i'd go after bass, trout, perch, and pickerell.

also, the jersey shore is a great place to head out for some atlantic deep sea fishing. we'd come back with fluke, flounder, blues, and all kinds of great eating fish!

i do, therefore, understand something about angling though it's been years since i've baited a hook and gone after the big one!

I would say the main thing I HATE about tethered to the flash is that the thing is constantly falling out. WHat a pain. It's like, I take a few shots and the model's like "there was no flash again"
