As much as I may disagree with Jimmy on politics, one cannot fault his judgement on pics. The first thing that caught my eyes in number 5 was the off-center catchlights. Aside from that, I personally would prefer a little more light on the model in pic 1 (more like #2), but then again, this LCD is notorious for bad contrast. As for the rest, fantastic!

Cheers!

Thanks for the comments Jimmy. I'll make an appointment to have those syndromes checked at the clinic.

You somehow forgot to add the Amputated Legs Syndrome (A.L.S.) on image 4 and Amputated Everything but the Eyes Syndrome (A.E.S.) on image 5.
I shall endevor to include the entire subject on my next feeble attempts!

Hmmmm. I suppose I could flat light a shot like this to make the catchlights centered or maybe move them in post. I kind of like them right where they are though. That's art for ya. One man's masterpiece is anothers fish wrap.

Thanks Glenn.

Nice. I particularly like the headshot of Danielle. What's the background in that shot, please?

Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful work Scott. My CRT must be set low because #1 and #2 look a bit dark for my taste. I LOVE the look of #3, the horizontal headshot with the shallow DOF. What lens did you use for this one? On #4 - you took one of the better shots of Kaylee that I've seen. She should be very happy. Finally, on Angela's eyes -- I'd try cropping the image above that dark shadow on her nose to bring more focus on her eyes. All-in-all, great shots.

I shot the first set with Danielle on the dark side trying to set the mood. I could raise them a third of a stop more. I actually think they'll look good as B&W or sepia so that's where I'll go with them next.

The backround for the headshot is some fabric that stapled to the wall. I used two different colors and randomly gathered it here and there to make the pattern. I bought it at Ikea. It's sort of a shiny mesh like mosquito netting. They have it in many colors, but this is gold and copper.

The landscape headshot has become somewhat of a signature shot, albeit 'borrowed' from others, for me. There are quite a few in my portfolio, but I'll agree this one of Danielle is perhaps as nice as my favorite of Sarah -

These were both shot with the D200 and 180mm f/2.8D ED Nikkor prime. My personal favorite for headshots!

Thanks again for the comments!

Love that head shot and the one you posted above my reply here. They are very tight.

Are you using a fill light of anykind? I only see one highlight in the eyes.
