I love the pose, especially how she's 'covering' herself seemingly incidentally.
<rant> I don't understand it. I just don't understand it. To me the chair next to her is, you know, next to her. And it totally works. It really bugs me how photographers, who are supposed to be the ones who really 'see' the world, have no sense of reality or depth perception.
When it's a telephone pole right behind a model's head, I can understand it. It can be distracting, and I can see how if might appear as though it's growing out of the model's head. But in this case, the spatial relationship of adjacent chairs is not at all mystifying. I instantly understood that the model's leg was up on the chair next to her, and even after reading comments that the chair was growing out of her knee, I can't make myself 'see' it the same way as the 'telephone pole out of the head' situation. It looks fine.
If that chair is growing out of her knee, the one in the foreground is growing out of her butt. </rant>
