Two things Witek, and keep in mind that I am a jealous hack who would have killed to be in Maui...

The balance in the first image feels odd to me. The left side has this great lush, natural vegetation that would have really highlighted the beautiful lighting that you put on Kat. And the view of the misty mountains on the right are magnificent, but they seem to get lost since she is the main focus on that side. Hindsight (and armchair quarterbacking) is always so much easier, but I would have liked to see the result if you sat her up facing left to right, sort of glancing back to the mountains in the distance.

Second, have you tried to edit at all using Photoshop. I SUCK at PS, but a little bit of selective edit would help. In picture #2 there is a shadow or crease in Kat's skin near the curve of her bottom (is that the appropriate technical term?) that detracts a bit. I know that Kat is a very fit and trim young woman, and I suspect that it was just a shadow or the product of the way that she was posed. Even so, a touch of PS would help.

All that said, I very much like the lighting. It's very vibrant, but without looking overdone or and wash outs. Nice work.

I like the second one, but the first one... I don't like - It makes me feel like you totally just forgot to post the other half of the image... I mean ... there's way too much scenery on the left side... and then it's just Kat to her waist... where's the rest of her???

just kind of hurts my head b/c it's wanting to visualize her skirt or shorts or whatever and her legs and feet being in the picture but it's not there...you know???

Part of the problem is the pose...specifically the arm extending forward. You don't want to crop the photo and leave her with a stump, but it gives you a great deal of negative space that doesn't seem to enhance the image. I think this just might be one of those poses that you say, "yeah, we'll avoid it next time."

I hate too sound too negative, and I feel like I am. I don't know that I would have seen this either, as I would have been worried about her rolling off the railing. This is simply how I would view this image had I been fortunate enough to join you in Maui.

Thank you for sharing them.
