Received an email from a model telling me that a few of my images were found on some modeling/talent website. I go over there and see that these guys seemingly ripped off most of Dorothy C's portfolio from that Other Modeling place.

I emailed Dorothy asking if she gave permission to use these images. She did not and have been in contact with a number of photographers already about this.

If any of you here have worked with Dorothy, you might want to take a peek at this site and see if any of your shots have been stolen.

This is the place: http://www.itimodels.com

I've sent an email to the people at valueweb.com- which seems to be the hosting service used by this outfit. Any other suggestions welcomed.

George should be really pissed, and has grounds to really nail them. This image was created by cropping George's copyright notice off the image. That's a big deal, and there are statutory damages that can be awarded...$2,500 minimum per image.

Are there instances where your copyright notice was cropped or removed? That's uncool. Talk to an attorney before you contact the ISP.

I firmly believe that America has become a far too litigious society, but this is illegal...not just annoying. Punish them.

Thanks Rolando. Hmm. I think you're thinking of the other 'DK' as far as HTL goes, but the birthday thing is right.

FWIW- it looks as if only George's images got cropped. Other images were posted by Dorothy without any watermarks.

The copyright removal is a more serious violation, but they still don't have the right to use your images without your permission.

Is it just me or do the catagories on this site appear to be nothing more than a way just show pics...I don't know, but I would guess that they are definately not in compliance with #2257
