i love this series you have done with carrie. they all have been strong contrast black and whites which i tend to favor more than color images. Personally I think once you eliminate the small things like skin pigments, imperfections, and color range all you have left to look at and judge is the model herself. Very nice work and I hope to see more.

Nice.

OK - you got several shots from this series that are quite good. What do you do? Seems to me that you don't want to have several of the same look in your portfolio, or on your walls, or on your site, or whatever, but I know that I have some series from which I can't bear to select a single "best" or even "favorite" from among the four or five top contenders. What do you do in this kind of situation?

Thanks for the reply!

When you say skin imperfections, what are you referring to? Some things were left purposely as I don't like a fake look.

Honestly, I don't know what the answer is. I don't really keep a printed book because I get tired of the photos I print so fast. I have some of my work on the walls in my office, and they are now a year old, and I have done so much more that I'd like to print and replace them with.

But, then, I have another shoot and come up with another favorite. So, I end up never printing any.

As for the web site, those are easily changed, so I just give a couple to my business partner who maintains our site, and let him choose.

What do you usually do?

During my b/w self-processing phase,I used to have stacks of prints squirreled away in empty paper boxes. When I started shooting slides, it got harder, b/c it cost so much to get good prints. So I didn't. With digital, I have CDs of images, but haven't found a solution. Or the whatever-it-takes to select one image from a favorite set.

I'm in the same boat. I have huge amounts of photos, but have trouble deciding which ones to make prints of.
