Hi,

May I know whether is it wrong to contact models who seeking for jobs in here? I had a very bad experience with some model forum which I paid to support and I got my account suspended. The reason they gave it that model complains to them that I wrote to them and asked them for assignment. So for nothing I lost about $40.00 in just 1 day. Until now, my account is still suspended and the Admin refuse to refund my money and answer my questions.

Please let me know whether will I face the same fate before I sign up for your membership.

Thanks

I feel pretty safe in saying that you can contact any model that you like so that it is done in a professional and respectful manner. This is a glamour-based site...so if your sole intention in joining is to locate models for "adult entertainment" shoots you are likely not going to receive great value for your membership fee. If that is not your area of interest and you are respectful (and don't expect something for nothing) you should be just fine.

This is a FAR more professional site than any other I've found, and while it costs a bit more it is worth every penny. In fact, the technical advice on this site from forum members is far more valuable than the networking. I earn my membership fee back at least once per month (Thanks Eldor and Chip!)

Act like a pro, even if you don't earn a living doing this, and you will be welcomed warmly. Flame another member, show disrespect, or generally act like some stupid GWC (guy with camera) and we'll hang you at sun up! LOL

(But we will get some great back lit images of it)

yeah there are many models here on this board and they are all very approachable. Of course be professional and they will be the same. I think its wrong for your account to have been suspended because you solicited to a model...after all, that's what we do. best of luck!

You might as well tell us the name of the other site, so nobody from here will make the same mistake you did.

I personaly contacted a few models for TFP's and got response back from at least half of them. The other half who didn't find time to answer at least with a simple no or kiss my donkey, were automaticaly put on my black list and if I become a famous
photographer, they're going to miss out. lol

If that other site's name is some variation on M-O-P, I had the same problem when I first joined it. I sent an initial contact to about a dozen models, and apparently one of them didn't like it for some reason. Personally, I thought it was quite professional, as it discussed everything from my shooting style to the project(s) that I had in mind. It was probably six paragraphs long and mentionied nothing "improper."

Anyway, I got "banned," until I wrote the management, reminded them that I'm an attorney, and explained exactly what I was going to do to them. I was reinstated the same day, but got a call from one of the "boss men" explaining how better to phrase my initial contact email. In essence, he said "dumb it down for the models." He obviously held his membership in the highest regard.

LOL...isn't that the truth. Of the models that I've gotten to know on here, one is and RN and the other is a DNA Tech. Based upon what I know about them, and myself (not too mention a few of the suspect characters who carry cameras) I'd be inclined to argue that the models are smarter than the photographers.

You're right though Cowboy. It's a shame when "managament" is basically telling you that they have little respect for 1/2 to 3/4 of their membership. That will just become reason 62 that I don't use that site.

I have pic on several sites and when corresponding with a model, the first e-mail is very simple, I give her my site and where she can find some of my images. I mention what I have in mind and the compensation offered or what I want to do with the images and what I will do for the model, etc. On many of the other sites you have a lot of models that are wannbees. Their mother said you should be a model or their boyfriend say you are pretty and you should be a model, They then sign up and post images that look like a 2 year old took and say I am a model and pay me; This type you may e-mail and never get an answer...There are some really great models on this site so take advantage of the quality and tell them what you have in mind. I just wish more of these models were in the NW.

Yes, this is what I thought so. I merely wrote to the model asking them whether they would like to come to Singapore for assignment. The model in their own profile has written that they are willing to travel. Some of them reply me for more details while others ignore my PM. I also posted on the main forum but it was taken down by the admin/moderator.

What can I do? I paid them and 2nd day, my account was suspended. They just gave me this lousy reasons. They want me to update my profile yet I could not log in. How strange and how stupid......

This forum is none other than net-model.com....

I have a feeling you could have problems on this site also if you contact a model and want her to come to Singapore. Just because a model says they are willing to travel, that doesn't usually mean they plan on traveling 10 to 12,000 miles to shoot with a stranger. Before you ask a model to fly half way around the world you usually have to have some pretty high class credentials. That would include a professional website, a number of high quality references, and so forth.

Cheers,
rfs

Even though as an Administrator, he should have a courtesy to write to me about this problem. He could just write to me or warn me that my actions must be support by certain degree of professionalism and references.

As such, I can provide these informations to them but my profile is blocked. I could not go in and update my profile or anything. As for high class credentials, how high? We are just hobbyists and would like to photograph some models overseas. We just post a thread and it was taken down. I sent PM to models and was said that I caused dismayed. By the way, I just sent less than 30 PMs altogether.

Ok, let us forget about this matter. I just forego that 40 bucks and continue with some other forums and move on.

So, in this forum what must I do before I can PM models in here to come to my country for assignment. I do not have any personal website yet and I am not a high class photographer, I am just merely an hobbyist who loves to photograph women and I pay them well.
